Objective
Scrapbooking in effect is the presentation of your life's
journey. Your scrapbook should stand-alone without you
hovering over it and explaining the who, where and when of
every photograph. It is intended to be a keepsake for
family or friends, a book of memories and history of today
for tomorrow. It is, however, the best trip down memory
lane you can make yourself. Personally, I first and
foremost scrap for myself. I thought at the start it was
all about creating memory journals for my family, which I
am doing, but I think they are more important to me than
anyone else. Perhaps when I am "gone" they will become
treasures and of course the only visible memory of dear
old Mom, but for today - it is all about my trip down
Memory Lane and I am loving it.Participate with older members of the family
to create the pages of their life, memories, faces, dates
and places that will be forgotten or unknown without their
input. This is a priceless memory of their lives for you
to keep. Time well-spent together. A wonderful time
together for them to share their memories. For children, it will
make their life's moments even more important and they
will have a hobby for life. Make a special book for each
of your children that they can take with them in later
years. Work with them to create their own pages
themselves. Again, scrapbooking is time well-spent together and time that
will last in their memories. It's creative and it is -
important.
While creating your own scrapbook you will find yourself
re-living those moments captured on film.
Suggested Use
Memories of a Lifetime, yours and those who you
scrapbook about, to hand down as the singular most
important heirloom a family could have for decades to
come, and who knows, perhaps in centuries to come! Do put
those memories in suitable scrapbooks - don't be tempted
by cheap binders - it is the whole picture and a suitable
scrapbook to the theme inside is worth the investment and
will also serve to protect the contents in the proper way.
