Objective
As a beginner, you will master the technique of tracing with pen and ink then move on to embossing to enhance areas of the image with the whitening and dimensional effect of the embossing. You can then add perforating (pricking) designs to detail your work and add the lace-like effect that is the trademark of this craft.

As you advance, you then have many options to enhance the images further with a large assortment of Pergamano tools for embossing, perforating, and coloring. There is an endless supply of new instruction books and patterns.

Suggested Use
Pergamano creations are most popular for creating distinctive greeting cards. Since many patterns will produce delicate lace-like artwork involving time and precision, framing has always been the most suitable way to display and enjoy a treasured and more intricate project. Creating accents for your scrapbook page, or frames to enhance the photographs, is an option but the parchment is not available in 12" x 12" for a complete page presentation.

Basic Supplies
Basic supplies would include a pen and white ink, parchment paper, an embossing tool, a perforating tool and a book of instructions and patterns to follow. We suggest purchasing the Deluxe Beginner's Kit.

Technique
Adding color with an eye make-up tip using Brilliance Ink Pads for stamping will delight you. We suggest you start with the tri-color ink pads which are the most useful and cost-efficient. The resulting color with have a soft shimmer and can be corrected with an eraser prior to drying. This is by far the softest, easiest and most pleasing manner in which to apply soft coloring touches.
