Iris Folding is a paper craft technique that originated in Holland. An appropriate pattern is taped to the front of a pre-cut design opening and strips of colored papers are layered and taped in position over the pattern following the design sequence from the back, creating a spiraling design. The Iris Folding design complete, lay a piece of holographic or metallic paper in the center, the iris, as in the "iris of an eye". The pattern is then gently removed and reveals the neat iris folded paper design surrounded by the die cut frame.

All the Iris Folding books contain complete instructions and patterns that can be traced and cut out. If cutting out your Iris Folding design is not for you, there are many die-cut cards available.
