Description:
Basic tool required when creating cards with cardstock that you are folding yourself. Score the center fold of your cardstock using a medium embossing tool and a ruler. If you own a cutting board that includes a scorer attachment, then you would follow that route. After the scoring is complete, a necessary guide to folding accurately, proceed to fold along the fold line and crease the fold firmly with your bone folder to effect a sharp fold.
TIP: We place a plain white piece of paper between the card and the bone folder so when we run the bone folder up and down along the fold, the resulting shiny line is left on the disposable piece of paper, not on the card itself.
A bone folder is, in our opinion an essential tool when Iris Folding to effect the sharp thin fold required for your layers of folded papers to lay flat and snug against each other. |
