To employ the best cutting technique, hold your knife like a pencil so you will be cutting on an angle and always cut in a clockwise motion, turning the paper so you continue to cut on the right hand of the image. If you are left handed, reverse the instructions. This results in the paper being cut on a bevel so you minimize any white core of the paper showing which it does when you cut straight up and down. This tip is essential for the fine cutting required for Paper Tole and should eliminate edging with markers except on the darkest images.
Scrapbookers should always have this style of knife, a set of replacement blades, a see-through ruler and a cutting board in their basic supply kit. This will enable you to cut out frames to border your pictures and make fine exact paper trimming easy. We also have a regular 12" cutter in our basic supply kit but the knife is still indispensable.
Essential knife also for Iris Folding. Use it to cut accurately along the image outline to create your own cut-out. The self-healing cutting mat is also essential otherwise you will find your blade dulls quickly. The cutting mat accepts the blade tip whereas a firm board will result in an unforgiving pressure on the tip of the blade causing it to break off.
