Unless you are familiar with Iris Folding patterns, you will need to own the Iris Folding Stylish Greeting Cards book for the folding technique and pattern. You will also need to purchase the Ginger Jar die cut.
We used the booklet of Pretty Papers (Oriental 1) which has a choice of 16 patterns, 32 sheets, and is perfect weight for Iris Folding.
Firstly, punch the corners of the die cut then color enhance the front of the Ginger Jar die cut by using the Smokey Grey Versafine ink pad in a direct to paper technique to apply some coloring. Finish by drawing color in from the edges using the Fired Brick Distress ink pad.
Secondly, complete the cutting, folding and taping the papers in place following the pattern contained in the book. Use regular office tape to secure the papers in their folding sequence behind the Ginger Jar die cut.
Finally, assemble the card as shown, the front of the card was taped in place at the fold about 1" deep so the card opens at the inner fold. We used double-faced tape for mounting.
