Description:
This iris folded card was designed by Colleen Kenney in her usual elegant style. The product application is interesting and a step away from traditional iris folding in that none of the card layers or ribbons are folded.
Colleen used two sided cardstock by Printworks from their tone on tone collection. The edges were accented by stencilling with the metallic creams. Matching patterns were either edged by laying down a torn piece of paper to make the edge interesting, or a straight edge for a solid line. By laying down the paper, your stencilling will end with the fancy torn design of the paper.
A nice contrast was achieved by using a pretty dotted sheer ribbon in the same color family.
The finishing touches were applied by placing the button in the center of the pattern then adding a large diamond sticker to the center of the button and a series of the small circles on select edges of the layered paper.
The cardstock was trimmed to size to fit inside our square card and the edges were punched with the south-west punch. Gold lurex thread was taped to the back and then wrapped around each corner and laid around to "frame" the design.
Lastly, secure the design layer to a tone on tone ivory card.
