Description: We would like to thank Colleen Kenney for sharing her lovely card.
Colleen has become our resident authority on how to create elegant iris folding projects with a touch that is all her own. They are delicate, elegant and lovely to behold.
The features that stand out about this card are:
- Colleen cut her own circle using a circle cutting template. She then proceeded to emboss two circles to set off the design. You can just barely make out the embossing as it does not show up clearly on this image. This additional technique of embossing around the cut-out image in layers quietly sets off the design and "frames" it
- The outer edge of the square card was cut with deckle scissors
- Both the circle edge and the outer deckle edge were edged with gold using our 18ct. Gold Leafing Pen
- The papers used were a mix of two of our specialty papers from India. They are creased firmly on the folded edges then also edged with the gold leafing pen. This is a trick pioneered by Colleen to overcome the tatty looking white parts that show up on the edges of white core paper when the papers are creased
- The centre is a foil paper which always sets off the design
- The project is then mounted on the face of an ivory card when completed
