This card is a great example of the truly lovely cards you can create using basic folding templates such as those included in The Iris Folded Greetings Cards book. This book is a very artistic book compared to the usual cute image designs that are shown for Iris folding.
The paper folding included a selection of Origami papers, torn white Rice Paper, and a solid gold foil to finish in the centre.
All the folded edges of the Origami paper have been edged with gold using the Gold Leafing Pen as has the cut-out opening edge and the outer edge. The outer edge was trimmed with Deckle Scissors before edging.
We cut a piece of cardstock larger than the cut-out opening, laid it on the face of the ivory card card and proceeded to dry emboss around it so the card face was further detailed with an embossed border around the design.
The finished project was then mounted on a navy card. Be sure all the iris folding layers are taped securly and firmly in place to minimize bulk.
